About ICTPPO2023

Dear Sir and Madam,

As an organizing committee, we originally planned to hold the 15th International Conference of Tetrapyrrole Photoreceptors in Photosynthetic Organisms (15th ICTPPO) in Shizuoka from August 31st to September 2nd, 2021, Japan. However, based on the global infection of coronavirus, we postponed this conference from August 30th to September 2nd, 2022. Although some European countries decided to lift coronavirus restrictions, responses in Japan are relatively strict and slow. Considering the current sixth wave of Omicron coronavirus variant, it is still challenging to expect whether restrictions for foreigners visiting Japan, such as quarantine, will be lifted entirely until next August or not. Since direct interaction and discussion are key to this conference, we exclude the possibility of holding this conference online. Thus, we decided to postpone the 15th ICTPPO to the following year, 2023. We are currently planning to hold the 15th ICTPPO from September 19th (Mon) to 22th (Fri)

We anticipate spreading the conference information in early 2023 and opening registrations for the 15th ICTPPO 2023 in April 2023. Detailed information can be obtained from the following website (www.ictppo2021.org).

Please stay safe and look after yourselves.

ICTPPO (International Conference on Tetrapyrrole Photoreceptors in Photosynthetic Organisms) is a biannual international meeting for researchers, those who are interested in tetrapyrrole photoreceptors. Tetrapyrrole photoreceptors are one of the most ancient pigment molecules involved in photosynthesis, respiration, light-sensing, signaling, and etc. This conference covers scientific areas relating tetrapyrrole photoreceptors including biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysics, spectroscopy, microbiology, optogenetics, organic and inorganic chemistry, pharmacology and medicine. This conference is a platform for exchange research updates, discuss the challenges, promote collaborations, and provide opportunities for young and senior researchers to build their networks.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the ICTPPO2021 conference in Shizuoka.
